KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to Kalamazoo College on Saturday afternoon looking for revenge on the Hornets. The Bulldogs were defeated earlier this season by Kalamazoo in double overtime at home. On Saturday, the Bulldogs bounced back and split the season series with Kalamazoo with a 76-67 win.
De'Ovion Price led the way for Adrian in the first half with ten total points.
Michael Rightnowar totaled eight first half points followed by five from
Josh Rechsteiner and five from
Kendall Chrismon. The Bulldogs shot 12-of-28 in the first half for a 42.9% shooting percentage while knocking down five three pointers. Adrian trailed 39-31 at the end of the first half as Kalamazoo was led by Josh Decker who totaled 16 points. The Hornets finished the half with a shooting percentage of 46.7%.
In the second half, the Bulldogs began its comeback. The Hornets couldn't find a way to defend Price as he dropped 23 points in the second half. In the second half alone,
Nick Seifert added seven points along with 11 rebounds. Adrian continued to knock down their shots in the second half finishing with a shooting percentage of 41.9% against Kalamazoo's second half shooting percentage of 28%.
Price led the Bulldogs with 33 points on the afternoon followed by 13 from Rightnowar and ten from Seifert. Adrian snaps its five-game losing streak with the victory and keep themselves alive with a postseason spot in sight.
The Bulldogs will resume action on Wednesday at home as they host Alma College for Senior Night starting at 8:00 PM.
