Track and Field Successful at Capital on Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Adrian College track and field team traveled to Columbus, Ohio for the Capital OAC Indoor Tune Up hosted by Capital University. No team scores were reported during the event.
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Cameron Overmyer finished second in the pole vault followed by Ethan DeBerry who placed fourth.
  • Joel Likens placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 12.11m.
  • Likens finished four in the shot put at 11.81m followed by Jarin Dunn in fifth at 11.72m and Dawson Jenkins in sixth at 11.66m.
  • Theodore Shepherd won the high jump with a jump of 1.98m followed by Weston Kvalevog who placed second at 1.93m. Drake Sellers added a fourth-place finish at 1.83m.
  • Brett Carlisle finished second in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:48.67 followed by Robert Diebold in second at 15:58.28.
  • In the 400m dash, Grant Clemens finished third with a time of 52.57 followed by Josh Trudell in fifth at 54.17.
  • Ethan Handley finished third in the 800m run with a time of 2:04.09.
  • In the 4x400m relay, the group of Trudell, Rucarean, Grzegorek, and Carlisle finished second at 3:40.67 while the group of Clemens, Lynch, Handley, and Diebold placed third at 3:41.30.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Alayna Paeth won the pole vault with a high of 2.75m while Amanda Mathews finished third at 2.60m.
  • Mathews also went on to finish fourth in the long jump at 4.65m. Isabelle Salazar finished sixth in the event at 4.26m.
  • Cailey Beaudoin won the high jump at 1.57m for the Bulldogs.
  • Emme Koutz finished second in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:28.14.
  • In the 400m dash, the Bulldogs were highlighted by Olivia Dunscombe who took second place at 1:05.86 followed by Abigail Raftis at 1:06.05 in third.
  • Koutz also went on to finish second in the 800m run with a time of 2:27.88 followed by Taylor Sempf in fifth and Elena Sands in seventh.
  • In the 200m dash, Salazar placed third with a time of 28.28.
  • In the 4x400m relay, the group of Vea, Raftis, Dunscombe, and Koutz totaled a time of 4:29.74 to finish first in the event.
UP NEXT
Next week the Bulldogs will travel to Hillsdale College on Saturday, February 18 for their next event. Start time is TBD.
