ANGOLA, IN.-- On Saturday afternoon, the Adrian College women's track team placed fifth, while the men's would place sixth at the MIAA Championships. Theodore Shepherd in the men's high jump, Cailey Beaudoin in the women's high jump, and Cameron Overmyer in the men's pole vault event placed first individually today.
The Bulldogs had a strong showing in the men's high jump Saturday afternoon During the event, Shepherd placed first with a jump distance of 2.01 meters, while teammate Weston Kvalevog placed third after jumping 1.96 meters.
During the women's shot put event, Bryanna Carey would place fourth after throwing a distance of 11.93 meters. For the mile event, Will Houvener would place 15th with a time of 4:41.65, while in the women's mile, Taylor Sempf placed 12th after recording a time of 5:57.90.
In the women's weight throw, Carey threw a distance of 14.25 meters for third place and Ti Vanhorn placed fifth after throwing a distance of 13.72 meters. Additionally, in the women's 800 meter event, Emme Koutz would lead the Bulldogs in her eighth-place finish with a time of 2:25.6.
In the men's 60 meter event, Bulldog Asher Cousino placed eighth after completing the 60 meter in 7.15 seconds.
In the men's 5000 meter run Robert Diebold and Brett Carlisle would place 10th and 11th, while in the women's high jump, Adrian's Beaudoin would win the event, jumping 1.63 meters. Placing third at 1.57 meters was sophomore Ciara Heslet.
During the men's pole vault event, Overmyer placed first with 4.35 meters. For the women's event, Bulldog Alayna Paeth would place eighth with 2.75 meters.
For the women's triple jump, Amanda Mathews placed fifth after a jump of 9.95 meters.
Up Next: The Adrian College track & field team will travel to Ada, Ohio to compete in the Polar Bear Qualifiers, hosted by Ohio Northern University. The qualifiers will take place over two days starting Friday, March 3, and ending on Saturday, March 4.
