Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Women’s and Men’s Tennis Teams Fall to Rose-Hulman and Warner University Monday

Orlando, Fla.-- The Adrian College men's tennis team lost 5-4 against Rose-Hulman,  while the women's team fell 6-3 Monday afternoon. In the evening, the men would lose 6-1, while the women would lose 5-2 against Warner University.  

Afternoon Play 

Both the Adrian College women's and men's tennis teams were defeated by Rose-Hulman today.  

In singles play for the women's team, sophomore Liv Depies and Vasiliki Gargasoulas would pick up victories Monday.   

Gargasoulas would continue her dominance in doubles play with teammate Beth Posey. The Duo would win 8-1 in their doubles match Monday afternoon. 

For the men in singles play, Brandon Falk would pick up his fourth singles win in five matches on Monday after winning two sets to one. Additionally freshman Luke Holowinski and Sean Ruhf picked up victories. After his 2-1 win, Holowinski picked up his third win in four singles matches. As for Ruhf, he has now won two of his last three singles matches.

In doubles play for the men, Falk and Ryan Cuddy would secure a 8-6 victory today. With the victory, Falk would improve his doubles record to 4-2, while Cuddy saw his second doubles win of the season. This year, the duo is 1-1 together in doubles play.  

Evening Play 

The men's team struggled against Warner University Sunday, with the freshman Ruhf picking up the lone victory against Warner. In his singles match, Ruhf would complete a 2-1 victory, improving his record to 3-1 in his last four singles matches played. 

As for the women's team, freshman Claire Earley and senior Elizabeth Himebauch received victories to cap off Monday's play. Early would win by opponent retirement to improve her singles record to 2-1 in her last three matches. The senior  Himebauch would pick up the second and final win in singles play for the women's tennis team. Himebauch would win two sets to one, improving her record to 6-2 on the year.

Up Next 

The men's team will face Davenport University tomorrow at 8AM, while the women's team will take on Saint Mary's University (Minn.) at noon.
