ALBION, Mich. — On Wednesday night up in Albion, Michigan the Bulldogs traveled into a hostile environment. Albion College was seeking vengeance after a loss down in Adrian back in January.
As the first half was underway the Bulldogs struggled and went down as many as 10 points, but with some outstanding defense and knocking down crucial shots, they started to bring it back and found themselves within one point of the Britons, after Chace Fields and De'Ovion Price took control. Fields knocked down a shot from beyond the three point line while Price was able to continue getting to the free throw line and hit some big shots. Kendall Chrismon knocked down some big jumpers as well contributing to a well fought first half. Adrian College found themselves leading by six at the break, up 40-34.
When second half action was underway, both teams kept going back and forth, each having no give. Adrian maintained the lead till about the 9:55 mark and found themselves trailing until the 2:19 mark when Nick Seifert hit a clutch three point jumper and put the Bulldogs back up by one 78-77. Unfortunately, the bulldogs would be halted for the rest of the game, as Albion was too much the last couple minutes hitting a jumper and a couple of free throws to seal the win 83-78.
Price led the Bulldogs with 19 points and Nick Seifert was right behind with 18 points. Fields and Chrismon also chipped into double figures with 13 points each.
The Bulldogs fall to 5-17 overall (2-9 MIAA) and will be back in action on Saturday February 11th in Kalamazoo, Michigan to take on the Hornets of Kalamazoo College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
