Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Offense Unloads as the Men's Lacrosse Team Tops Alma, 18-6

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's lacrosse team hosted Alma College on Wednesday afternoon coming away with a MIAA win over the Scots. The Bulldogs lit it up in the first half totaling 13 goals on their way to an 18-6 win.
 
Alma scored the first goal of the game to lead 1-0. Michael Jonas responded on the man-up to tie the game 1-1. Brandon Hoerauf and Jake Coakley scored goals to lead 3-1. Jonas scored his second of the game to lead 4-1 before an answer by Alma. Austin Selvage, Steven Martin, and Coakley scored goals before the end of the quarter to lead 7-2.
 
In the second, Adrian opened up with six straight goals. Alex Winegar, Coakley, Selvage, and Hoerauf scored to lead 11-2. Jonas added back-to-back goals to extend the lead. Alma scored before the half ended to make it 13-3 at the break.
 
In the third quarter, Selvage scored to open the half which was followed by a pair of goals from Winegar to lead 16-3. Alma went on to scored back-to-back goals, but Tyler Ristau responded before the quarter ended to make it 17-5. Jonas netted the only fourth quarter goal for the Bulldogs which was answered by Alma with less than a minute to go. Adrian went on to win 18-6.
 
Trenton Garcia led the way on defense leading the team with three caused turnovers while AJ Hayes, Benjamin Magnus, and Nic Palomba each added two. Garcia also led the team in ground balls with six followed by five from Hayes, and four from Cameron Reed.
 
Sam Spangler started in goal where he finished the night with six saves to earn his second win of the year. Ethan Krupp added five saves in the second half while Mason Obeldobel collected three.
 
The Bulldogs will head out on the road on Saturday, April 15 when they travel to Calvin University for a 1:00 PM game against the Knights.
