ANGOLA, Ind. –  The Adrian College women's lacrosse team lost to Trine University 17-5 Monday evening. Melaina Springer and Emily Crager led the Bulldogs with two goals each Monday.  

How It Happened

The Adrian College women's lacrosse team traveled to Angola Indiana, to battle Trine University in a conference matchup Monday evening. 

After trailing early in the first quarter, the freshman Crager would score at the 8:22 mark to pull the Bulldogs within one. Crager's strike marked the 10th goal of her career and she became the fifth Bulldog this season to record 10 or more goals.  

In the second frame of play on Monday, Crager would score her second goal of the evening with 4:15 remaining in the first half. At intermission, the Bulldogs would trail 11-2. 

Adrian College opened the second half with another goal, as they tried to build off of Crager's momentum. During the seventh minute of the third quarter, Springer would score her 39th goal of the season. Springer broke through Trine's defensive line and ripped a shot into the back of the net around seven yards out from goal. 

In the fourth and final quarter of play, the Bulldogs would tally a quarter high two goals against Trine. Springer would score again for Adrian College at the 4:23 mark and Zoe Weber would score with 2:33 remaining. With her goal, Weber extended her streak with at least one goal in a career-best eighth consecutive game.

Top Dawgs 

Springer extended her career-high to seven consecutive games where she would record at least one goal. Additionally, Crager's goal with 4:15 remaining in the second quarter marked her third multi-goal game of the season and of her career.
