KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team opened MIAA conference play with a commanding win over Kalamazoo College on Saturday afternoon, winning 19-9 on the road.
 
Michael Jonas scored a whopping eight goals while providing two assists for Adrian. Derek Hassel added four goals and four assists, Alec Winegar collected two goals and two assists, Austin Selvage scored twice and added an assist, while Brandon Hoerauf provided a goal and two assists. Trenton Garcia and Oliver Padilla each added a goal as well. Sam Spangler and Gino Capicchioni led the Bulldogs in ground balls, with six.
 
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-1 lead after the first quarter before moving it to a 10-2 lead at half. Adrian shutout the Hornets in the third quarter winning the quarter 7-0. Kalamazoo bounced back winning the fourth 7-2, but Adrian had already pulled ahead.
 
Spangler, who was in goal for 56 minutes, allowed eight goals but provided 18 saves and collected the win for Adrian. Mason Obeldobel made two saves and allowed a goal during four minutes of play in net.
 
The Adrian College men's lacrosse team's next game will be a battle against MIAA opponent, Alma College, on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:00 PM at Docking Stadium.
