ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College Athletic Director, Craig Rainey, has announced the hiring of Amanda Kennedy as Director of Skating at Adrian College. Kennedy will oversee the college's three synchronized skating teams and the figure skating team. Kennedy is a 2022 graduate of Arizona State University where she earned Bachelor's degree in Healthy Lifestyles and Fitness Science.
Kennedy comes to Adrian College with over ten years of skating experience. She began coaching in 2007 where she was a Learn to Skate Instructor. From 2015-18, she spent time coaching Hayden Synchro at multiple levels. She spent time with Team Australia in 2017 working with all age group including beginners, senior teams, and adult teams. In 2019, she moved on to coach Synergy Synchro for two seasons.
"I am very excited to join Adrian College and help the skaters work towards achieving their goals," Kennedy said.
During her skating career, Kennedy spent time with Disney On Ice as a professional performer. She played a role in "The Lion King" where she performed in over 275 diversified performances. From 2012-17, Kennedy was a member of the Haydenettes Senior Team where she was a five-time US National Championships Gold Medalist. With the Haydenettes, Kennedy was also a two-time World Bronze Medalist, and Shanghai Trophy Silver Medalist in China, a two-time Leon Lurje Trophy Silver Medalist in Sweden, and a Spring Cup Bronze Medalist in Italy. Kennedy was a USFS Triple Gold Test Medalist in Senior Free Skate, Senior Moves in the Field, and Gold Ice Dance.
Coach Kennedy will take over the program from Dana Hall who has decided to pursue other career opportunities. Coach Hall will serve as the Adrian College skating contact through the month of June before Coach Kennedy takes over in early July.
