ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's soccer team held a contest on Saturday afternoon inside Docking Stadium against Denison University. The Bulldogs grinded out a physical game that ended in a 1-1 tie.
Adrian fought in the first half totaling four shots. Denison took an early 1-0 lead in the 20
th minute.
Kaitlyn Dake and
Alanna Earl both had two close opportunities in the 30
th minute, but one hit the top of the woodwork of the goal and the other went out just above the goal.
In the second half Adrian stayed on pace with their aggressive offensive play by picking up four shots with three of them landing on goal.
Annamarie Fosmoen lined up a penalty kick and put it the left side of the goal for Adrian's first goal of the season, tying Denison 1-1 in the 74
th minute. Both sides had chances down the stretch but could not connect resulting in a 1-1 final score.
Kaitlyn Dake put up three shots with one on goal followed by
Kelsey Zoli with a single shot on goal. The Adrian defense toughed it out allowing 10 shots resulting in three on goal.
Taylor Fischer added two saves today for the Bulldogs.
