ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team hosted the Flying Dutchmen of Hope College on Saturday. Adrian would get taken down by the Flying Dutchmen, 62-91.
To start the game
Kendall Chrismon would come out hot, burying two three-pointers to get the Bulldogs going taking a 6-2 lead early. A back-and-forth battle would be the case until around the four-minute mark. Hope would make a layup to take a 10-point lead. The Flying Dutchmen would go on to finish the half on a 13-3 run to pull away. Adrian would be facing a 20-point deficit at the end of the first half, 31-51. The Bulldogs would shoot 33.3% from the floor and go 4-12 from beyond the arc.
To start the second half Hope would extend their lead to 27 with just about 16 minutes left. The Bulldogs would struggle the rest of the way and allow the Flying Dutchmen gain its largest lead of the game with just under 12 minutes to go, 73-41. Adrian would go 21-69 from the field (30.4%) and shoot 6-24 (25%) from three while Hope shot 63.9% from the floor and go 5-12 from the three-point line.
To lead the Bulldogs was
Braylon Dickerson with a 10-point and 10 rebound double-double.
Josh Rechsteiner,
Michael Rightnowar, and Chrismon all added eight points each.
Josh Jordan totaled five rebounds and Dickerson,
Nick Seifert, and
DJ Morrow all contributed three assists.
The Bulldogs will be traveling to Trine University on January 17 at 7:30 PM to play another MIAA contest.
