ANGOLA, IN – The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to the MTI Center to play a conference game against Trine University on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs would battle, but end up losing to the Thunder, 77-57.
In the first half of play
Josh Rechsteiner would hit a three-pointer to start the game and the Bulldogs would end up going on an 8-2 run within the first few minutes of action. The Thunder would battle back and get the lead tied back up at 20 apiece with about five minutes left to go in the first half. Turnovers and offensive rebounds killed the Bulldogs as they would give up a 16-6 run to end the first 20 minutes of play and be down 36-26 at the break. Adrian would shoot 37.5% from the floor and go 6-12 from beyond the arc.
In the second half the Thunder would assert their physicality and go on a 15-4 run to extend their lead to 53-30 with just under 13 minutes left in the game. Adrian would have no answer for Trine and the lead would grow to its largest margin, 30 points. The Bulldogs would end up losing to the Thunder on the road, 77-57.
To lead Adrian was
Kendall Chrismon with a game-high 19 points on 50% shooting from the floor.
Nick Seifert would lead with six rebounds and
Braylon Dickerson and
Michael Rightnowar would total 3 assists each on the night.
Next up for the Bulldogs will be The University of Olivet on Saturday, January 20 at 3:00 PM inside the Merillat Performance Gym.
