ADRIAN, Mich. – The No. 4 Adrian College Women's NCAA Hockey team completed the sweep over Lawrence University on Saturday, defeating the Vikings, 6-0 to close out the NCHA weekend match-up.
The Bulldogs opened up the game with a two-goal first period thanks to tallies from
Aileena Dopheide and
Gia Avalone.
Second period action resulted in a lone goal from
Une Bjelland, her 17
th of the season to put the Bulldogs up 3-0 after two frames.
In the third period, the Bulldogs would add three more.
Kaleigh Cadorette would score twice while Dopheide collected her second of the game. Defensemen
Erika Johnson and
Maya Roy and forward
Zoe Lohrei all finished Saturday with two assists. Adrian goaltender
Annie Gilbert made eleven saves for the shutout win.
The Women's NCAA Hockey team will be back on the ice January 19-20 as they travel to Lake Forest for two NCHA conference games.
