ADRIAN, Mich. – The No. 4 Adrian College Men's NCAA Hockey team completed the home sweep over Lake Forest College on Saturday, defeating the Foresters, 2-0.
The Bulldogs opened the game with a two-goal first period on tallies from
Bradley Somers and
Riley Murphy.
Adrian would find the net twice more in the second, both times by
Zachary Heintz, including once on the power play before Lake Forest would answer back with a goal of their own to make it 4-1 after two frames.
Adrian's final goal came in the third period off the stick of
Bradley Somers to claim the 5-1 victory.
Dershahn Stewart earned another win in goal on the afternoon making 32 saves including 13 in the first period and 11 in the third.
Mathew Rehding led the team with three assists on the day while
Julien Jacob added two.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on January 26-27 as they host the University of Dubuque in another NCHA conference match-up. The puck drops at 7:00 PM on Friday and 3:00 PM on Saturday at the Arrington Ice Arena. The Bulldogs will also be honoring the Senior Class of 2024 before the game on Saturday.
