DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team wrapped up its series on the road at the University of Dubuque on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldog offense picked up where they left off from Friday night defeating Dubuque 9-1.
Adrian led 4-0 after the first period.
Saige Biddle picked up the first goal of the game for Adrian. The Bulldogs went on to score three goals in 51 seconds.
Maya Roy netted the team's second goal followed by goals from
Nicole Pietrucha and
Une Bjelland.
In the second period,
Gia Avalone scored for Adrian to lead 5-0. Thirty-eight seconds later,
Callie Wollschlager scored to make it 6-0 heading into the second intermission. Adrian added three more goals in the third period with the help of two of them coming from
Kathryn Truban. University of Dubuque scored their lone goal in the third period, but was answered by a goal from
Annika Hanson.
Karmen Anderson picked up three assists on the afternoon while
Lindsey Sorrell recorded two. Saturday marked the 100th career game of Sorrell's collegiate career.
Annie Gilbert started in goal for the Bulldogs where she finished the day with nine saves.
Adrian returns home next weekend to host St. Norbert College for a two-game home series scheduled to begin on Friday night at 7:00 PM.
