ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team would take on The University of Olivet on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs would come up short against the Comets, 66-42.
In the first quarter of play a back-and-forth effort would be on display.
Bailey Taylor would pour in six points in the first ten minutes as the game would be all tied up at 13 after one quarter. The Bulldogs would go 6-21 from the field and go 1-3 from the free throw line.
To start the second quarter Adrian would go down as much as four points, but claw back to take a one-point lead heading into the half.
Morgan Babb would hit a free throw to end the half for Adrian to have the advantage, 28-27. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would shoot 40% from the floor and go 1-3 from beyond the arc.
A big second half for the Comets started off with a 12-point advantage in the third quarter. The University of Olivet would win the third quarter 19-7 and shoot 50% from the field. The Comets would get up as many as 20 points in the last quarter of play while winning the fourth quarter by a 16-9 difference. Adrian would shoot 4-24 from the field in the second half and go 10-21 from the free-throw line throughout the entire 40 minutes.
To lead the Bulldogs was Taylor with 12 points.
Kali Barber and Taylor would have nine rebounds each while
Kiaya Warner would total three assists on the night.
Adrian will travel to Calvin University on Saturday, February 3
rd for their next contest at 1:00 PM.
