rALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team opened MIAA conference play on Thursday evening with a road trip to Alma College. Things didn't go as planned for the Bulldogs as they fell to the Scots, 69-55. The Bulldogs fall to 2-10 on the season and start the MIAA, 0-1.
The Bulldogs trailed 35-23 at halftime as they shot 33.3% against Alma's 41.4%. The Bulldogs shot 2-of-7 from three-point land in the first half with both threes coming from
Braylon Dickerson. Dickerson led the team with 12 points at halftime followed by six from
Darrius Welch.
Adrian shot better in the second half with a shooting percentage of 47.6%. The team knocked down five three pointers in the half including one from Dickerson, two from
DJ Morrow, and one from
Emcee Williams, and
Jake Slezinger.
Dickerson led both teams in scoring with 20 points on the night followed by Morrow with ten and Welch with nine. Welch added seven rebounds for Adrian in the effort. Adrian finished the game shooting 40% while Alma shot 45.3%.
The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround before hosting Albion College on Saturday, January 6 for another MIAA contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
