ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball team took on the Britons from Albion College in an MIAA conference match-up at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs battled through foul trouble all game to take a 78-70 win and move to 3-10 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The first half started out with the Bulldogs jumping out to a 16-7 lead. There were 28 fouls between the two teams in the first half leading to several players being in foul trouble throughout the game. Nick Seifert led Adrian College with nine points in the first half, while Reed Schilling added eight with a pair of triples to extend the lead, and DJ Morrow chipped in with seven. At the half, the Bulldogs led 39-29.
In the second half, Adrian stretched its lead out to 15 with the help of Seifert, Morrow, and Kendall Chrismon. Albion would cut the lead back down to five with under two minutes left only for the Bulldogs to knock down some free throws down the stretch to take the eight point victory.
Seifert recorded a double-double for the Bulldogs by scoring twenty and grabbing ten rebounds, while Morrow and Schilling tallied seventeen and eleven off the bench respectively. There were six lead changes and three ties during the game.
The Bulldogs next game is Wednesday, January 10 at home at 7:30 PM when they take on Calvin University.
