Upland, Ind. - The Adrian College cross country team traveled to the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University on Friday. The women's team finished 11th place overall, while the men secured 12th.
Kicking off the event, the women's squad saw freshman Samantha Coots lead the Bulldogs, finishing in 77th place with a time of 26:08.9. Sophomore Sarah Anastasiadas followed closely, taking 83rd with a time of 26:33.8. Freshman Olivia Hyatt made her mark in 109th place at 27:52.6, while junior Ava Arnes finished 113th with a time of 28:13.0. Rounding out the top five was sophomore Bridget Waterstadt, crossing the finish line in 114th at 28:22.9.
On the men's side, freshman Ryan Morris was the first Bulldog to cross the line, securing an impressive 41st place with a time of 27:38.0. Senior Colin Syrek came in 70th at 28:44.5, followed closely by senior Alec Grzegorek in 78th with a time of 29:05.3. Junior Gavin Shelton finished 93rd at 29:25.4, and freshman Grant Fahle rounded out the team in 102nd with a time of 30:05.3.
The Bulldogs will look to build on this experience as they prepare for the MIAA Cross Country Championships in Grand Rapids, Mich., on November 2.
