ADRIAN, MICH. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team faced off against conference opponent Trine University in a thrilling match on Tuesday night that went the distance. Despite a strong start, the Bulldogs narrowly fell in five sets.
Adrian came out firing, capturing the first two sets with confidence. Junior
Megan Feldmann led the charge with 17 kills, while sophomore
Virginia Rowan added 10 kills to boost the offense.
However, Trine mounted a spirited comeback, taking the third set by five points and carrying that momentum into the fourth to force a decisive fifth set.
On the defensive side, senior
Mya Minjares stood tall for the Bulldogs, recording a team-high 24 digs, with junior
Rainie Atherton contributing 11. Orchestrating the offense, sophomore
Kendall Sullivan dished out 22 assists, while junior
Megan Reckling added 13 assists of her own.
In a hard-fought final set, the Bulldogs battled to the end but came up just short, falling 10-15. Despite the loss, the team showed tremendous heart and resilience throughout the match.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, October 18 where they will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on Calvin University.
