ADRIAN, MICH. – The Adrian College women's soccer team came up short in their final regular season match, falling to Calvin University, 4-0, on Wednesday.
Calvin opened the scoring in the 7th minute, breaking the initial 0-0 tie, and extended their lead in the 19th minute to enter halftime up 2-0.
The Bulldogs managed five shots in the first half, with one on target. In the second half, Calvin continued to apply pressure, adding a goal in the 58th minute, quickly followed by another in the 59th, marking the final score at 4-0. Adrian finished with eight total shots, two on target, compared to Calvin's 11 shots and five on goal.
The Bulldogs, who finished their regular season with a 11-4-1 record and a 5-2-1 conference record, will regroup and prepare to host the first round of the MIAA Tournament this Saturday with the tournament bracket set to release tomorrow.
