GENEVA, Ill. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team faced Aurora University on Friday night to open the two-game road series. The Bulldogs came away with a 4-1 win to move to 3-0 in NCHA play.
Aurora University opened the scoring in the first period to take a 1-0 lead. With seconds left on the clock in the first,
Emma Simon netted a goal for the Bulldogs to tie the game 1-1. Simon scored her second goal of the game in the second period to give Adrian a 2-1 lead. In the third period,
Maya Roy extended the lead to 3-0 before
Riley Johnson scored her first goal as a Bulldog to pull ahead 4-0.
Roy finished the night with three points by adding a pair of assists to her goal.
Zoe Lohrei added two assists on the night.
Annie Gilbert started in goal for Adrian where she finished the game with 13 saves. Adrian outshot Aurora 58-14.
Adrian will wrap up the series with Aurora tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 PM ET.
