GENEVA, Ill. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team completed its series with Aurora University of Saturday afternoon. The No. 4 Bulldogs completed the road sweep over Aurora to move to 4-0 in conference play.
Adrian led 1-0 after the first period on a goal from
Zoe Lohrei.
Gia Avalone and
Kathryn Truban recorded assists on the goal. Aurora went on to tie the game 1-1 in the second period. Truban gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead halfway through the third period. The rest of the game went scoreless allowing the Bulldogs to lock in the NCHA weekend sweep.
Annie Gilbert started in goal for Adrian where she finished the afternoon with 12 saves. Adrian outshot Aurora, 42-13.
Adrian returns home for a two-game series against Lawrence University on November 22-23. Friday night's series opener will begin at 7:00 PM.
