ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team wrapped up its NCHA series with Aurora University on Saturday afternoon. The No. 11 Spartans completed the sweep over the No. 2 Bulldogs after a 4-2 win. This marks the first time since 2020 that the Bulldogs were swept in a home series.
Aurora took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a wraparound goal. Shortly after,
Bradley Somers and
Ian Amsbaugh found
Ben Loreto who tied the game 1-1. Aurora added two more goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead into the third.
Austin McCarthy scored a goal for the Bulldogs in the third to put the game back within one. Unfortunately, Adrian was forced to pull its goalie allowing Aurora to net an empty netter.
Dershahn Stewart started in goal for the Bulldogs where he finished the afternoon with 18 saves.
Adrian will resume action on the road when they travel to Lawrence University on November 22-23. Friday night's contest with start at 8:00 PM ET.
