ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team wrapped up its series with SUNY Canton on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs bounced back after the opening night loss, and defeated the Kangaroos, 5-0.
Adrian led 1-0 after the first period on a power play goal from
Aileena Dopheide. In the second period,
Zoe Lohrei and
Tia Lascelle scored goals before Dopheide netted her second of the game to lead 4-0. The Bulldogs added their fifth goal in the third period on a power play with
Kathryn Truban finding the back of the net.
Lohrei finished the day with three points on a goal and a pair of assists. Lascelle collected an assist landing her with a pair of points on the afternoon.
Annie Gilbert started in goal for Adrian where she recorded 13 saves to complete the shutout.
Adrian moves to 1-1 on the season and will begin conference play next weekend when they travel to Marian University for a two-game series. The series will begin on Friday, November 8 at 8:00 PM ET.
