NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Adrian College women's basketball team battled its way to their first win of the season, taking down Manchester University, 68-59, on the road on Saturday.
The Bulldogs put together a strong performance on Saturday afternoon, earning the win and the first of Head Coach
Sam Miller '10's tenure.
Hannah Lisch and
Kaitlyn Otto were at the top of the point ladder in the win, scoring 15 and 14 points respectively. Lisch also collected two rebounds and a steal, while Otto registered five rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Darby Lienerth provided a ton of help in the contest, scoring five points and leading the squad with four dimes.
Aubrie Ickes scored eight points and led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds on the day, while adding two assists.
Morgan Babb and
Kylie Skidmore also contributed to the scoreboard, tallying nine and seven points apiece.
Shooting from the free-throw line today, the Bulldogs went 17-26 (65.4%). Beyond the arc, the Bulldogs shot 5-17 (29.4%) and from field-goal range the team shot 23-53 (43.4%). An overall impressive collective effort led to the Adrian win, moving the Bulldogs to 1-4 on the year.
The Adrian College women's basketball team will welcome cross-town rival Siena Heights to the MSFC next Tuesday, November 26 for a pre-thanksgiving battle. Tip-off at 6:00 PM.
