WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Adrian College women's rugby team closed its fall regular season on Sunday, traveling to Indiana for a BIG10 Rugby Conference contest with Purdue University. The Bulldogs fell to the Boilermakers, 46-3.
Adrian received its lone three points from
Pendo Miregi as she converted a penalty kick to put the Bulldogs on the board, but it was all they could produce as the Boilermakers came out with a commanding victory.
The Bulldogs and Head Coach,
Gracie Martinez, put together a strong first season as members of Division 1 National Collegiate Rugby. Coach Martinez stated after the fall finale,
"We traveled to Purdue with no subs and gave it our all. It was a great building season for us, and we look forward to our 7's season in the spring. Thank you to all the teams we have played and good luck to them in the playoff and championship seasons."
The Adrian College women's rugby team will return to action in the spring.
