HUDSONVILLE, MICH. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has released its preseason poll for the upcoming men's basketball season, with Adrian College's men's basketball team earning 25 voting points and securing a fifth-place rank among the conference's eight teams.
Reflecting on last season, the Bulldogs finished with an 8-19 overall record and a 5-9 record in conference play. Although they had a slow start, they picked up momentum with a decisive 79-58 win over non-conference opponent Hiram College. Their first MIAA victory came soon after, with a hard-fought 78-70 win against Albion College. They went on to secure additional conference wins, defeating The University of Olivet and Kalamazoo College twice each, as well as Albion again in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.
The Bulldogs' postseason journey saw them advance to the conference tournament, where they claimed a thrilling first-round victory. However, their run ended with a narrow four-point loss to Trine University in the semifinals.
In the 2024 MIAA preseason poll, Trine University is the favorite to win the conference, securing seven first-place votes. Calvin University follows in second with one first-place vote, while Hope College rounds out the top three. Albion is predicted to finish fourth, with Adrian in fifth. Olivet ranks sixth, followed by Kalamazoo College and Alma College in seventh and eighth, respectively.
