ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team started its 2024-25 season on Friday night as they hosted Oberlin College at home. After 40 minutes of battle, the Bulldogs fell short to the Yeos, 63-60.
Adrian led 27-25 at the end of the first half.
Kylie Skidmore led the way for the Bulldogs with 10 first half points while
Aubrie Ickes finished the half with eight. Adrian struggled shooting in the first quarter finishing 4-of-17 for 23.5%, but bounced back in the second quarter shooting 7-of-18 for 38.9%.
Adrian led after three quarters of play, 44-42. Adrian finished the third quarter shooting 7-of-11 for 63.6%.
Hannah Lisch stepped up in the second half with nine points while
Morgan Babb finished the half with ten. Adrian faced early foul trouble in the fourth allowing Oberlin to comeback as they made 15 free throws in the fourth quarter to win 63-60.
Adrian finished with four scorers in double digits. Ickes led the team with 13 points followed by 12 from Babb and Skidmore, and 11 from Lisch.
Ashlyn Weatherly and
Kaitlyn Otto each collected six rebounds as Adrian won the boards, 33-28.
The Bulldogs will look to turn things around on Saturday, November 9 when they travel to Hiram College for a 3:00 PM contest.
