ADRIAN, MICH. - The Adrian College women's wrestling team wrapped up the Adrian College Women's Duals with a strong finish, securing a victory against Hiram College. Despite hard-fought efforts, the Bulldogs fell short in their matchups against Gannon University and West Liberty University.
In their first dual of the day, the Adrian College women's wrestling team faced a tough matchup against West Liberty University, falling 35-14.
The Bulldogs started at a disadvantage, forfeiting the first two weight classes and earning a forfeit to Adrian's favor. However, sophomore
Sophia Renteria made a strong statement at 124 pounds, securing a victory by fall in the first period. Freshman
Samantha Bultron, wrestling at 138 pounds, was pinned early in her match. West Liberty continued their momentum, winning the next two bouts by fall.

Mia Gaetjens delivered a standout performance at 180 pounds, dominating her opponent with a tech fall, 15-0. In the final match of the dual, sophomore
Xsaria Puente faced a challenging opponent and was pinned in the first period.
In their second dual of the day, Adrian faced off against Gannon University but came up short, losing 36-14.

Josie Hause, competing at 160 pounds, delivered a strong performance, securing her first win of the day by pin. Despite a brief comeback effort from Adrian, Gannon responded with another victory by fall. Late in the dual, freshman
Mia Gaetjens showcased her skills once again, earning a decisive win by fall. Adrian ultimately fell to Gannon University with a final score of 36-14.
In their final dual of the day, the Adrian College women's wrestling team faced off against Hiram College, securing a 31-14 victory.
Adrian began the dual with forfeits in the first two weight classes, giving Hiram an early lead. However,

Hiram responded by taking the 138-pound match, but Adrian capitalized on forfeits in the final four weight classes to secure the dual victory. The Bulldogs finished the day on a high note, defeating Hiram College 31-14.
The Adrian College women's wrestling team is set to host the Adrian College Women's Invitational tomorrow, with the first match scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
