BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Adrian College women's basketball team ended the semester with a non-conference battle with Bluffton University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs battled back in the second half, but the strong effort fell short resulting in a 65-54 loss to the Beavers.
The Bulldogs led 13-11 after the first quarter, but Bluffton took over in the second taking a 26-20 lead into halftime. Adrian totaled 14 points in the third quarter and 20 in the fourth quarter, posting a solid second half. Adrian shot 33% in the third quarter followed by shooting 50% in the fourth.
Hannah Lisch led the Bulldogs with 17 points with the help of a trio of three-pointers.
Morgan Babb added 14 points for the Bulldogs followed by 12 from
Aubrie Ickes.
Ashlyn Weatherly led the team with ten rebounds followed by nine from Babb.
Adrian scored 21 of its points off the bench and 28 inside the paint. Adrian played a fast-paced game by collecting 14 fast break points.
The Bulldogs will return shortly after Christmas as they travel to DePauw University for a holiday tournament. The Bulldogs will face DePauw on Sunday, December 29 at 2:00 PM followed by a contest against either MSOE or Capital on December 30.
