ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team wrapped up its series with Marian University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs came away with a pair of points for the NCHA standings after a 4-3 overtime victory.
After a scoreless first period,
Ian Amsbaugh put the Bulldogs on the board 19 seconds into the second. Three minutes later, Marian answered with a shorthanded goal before taking the lead a minute later. With 6:15 to go in the second period,
Theo Thrun tied the game 2-2. Marian scored a goal late in the third period which was answered on a power play goal from
Frank Tafelski to force overtime. After winning the faceoff,
Ryan Pitoscia received pass from Amsbaugh leading him to the game winning goal to grab the win.
Amsbaugh finished the day with three points on a goal and a pair of assists while
Dershahn Stewart finished the game with 25 saves in goal. Adrian takes two of the three points for the NCHA standings with the overtime victory while Marian will earn one.
The Bulldogs return to action on the road next weekend when they head to MSOE for another NCHA conference series. The weekend series will begin on Friday, December 13 at 8:00 PM ET.
