Women's Hoops Couldn't Contain the Britons, Losing 78-40

ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team traveled to Albion College for a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs could not contain the Britons as they would lose, 78-40.
 
In the first quarter of play the Bulldogs would jump out to an early 4-2 lead with a jumper made by Julia Tierman. The Britons would end the half on a 6-1 run to take the lead at the end of the first ten minutes of action, 13-7. Adrian would shoot 23% from the floor and go 0-4 from the three-point line.
 
To start the second quarter, Kylie Skidmore would hit a three-point jumper to bring the lead to within five points. The Britons would grab ahold of the lead and never look back as they would get up as many as 17 points to end the half. The halftime score would be 32-15 at the break. Adrian would continue to struggle shooting from the floor as they would go 3-16 from the floor and 1-6 from beyond the arc.
 
In the second half Bailey Taylor would nail a three-pointer to bring the lead to 14 and try and get the Bulldogs back into the game. Albion would go on another run; this time it was a 10-3 run to bring their lead to 21 points halfway through the third quarter. Albion would end the third quarter with a 52-33 lead. Adrian shot 58% from the field in the third quarter and go 2-2 from the three-point line.
 
In the final quarter of action Taylor would hit another three-pointer, but it was not enough. Albion would win the final 10 minutes by a 19-point margin as they would go on to win the game, 78-40. For the game, Adrian would shoot 29% from the floor and 4-17 from beyond the arc.
 
To lead Adrian was Taylor with 11 points with Skidmore adding 10 of her own. Taylor would have a team-high in rebounds with nine while Tierman dishing out three assists.
 
The Bulldogs will travel to Hope College on Wednesday, February 14 at 6:00 PM for their next game.
