HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team traveled to the DeVos Fieldhouse to compete against Hope College on Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs would be stunned on the road losing, 78-42.
Hope would come flying out of the gate on a 12-0 run in the first three minutes of action. The Bulldogs would respond as an
Olivia Green made jumper at the end of the first quarter would bring the lead down to seven, 18-11. Adrian shot 5-13 from the floor in the first ten minutes and go 1-4 from three-point range. A
Morgan Babb layup would get the Bulldogs rolling on the first possession of the second quarter. Hope would go on a run towards the end of the half, getting up as many as 17 points. At the break Hope would be up 36-22. The Bulldogs would shoot 35% from the field and go 2-9 from beyond the arc.
Hope would start the second half with a made jumper and never look back. A back and forth third quarter would end with Hope putting their lead up to 22 points. Hope would win the quarter by an eight-point margin to have a 56-34 lead at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter Adrian continued to have some struggles as Hope would total 22 points alone in the final quarter of play. The Bulldogs would lose to Hope College, 78-42.
To lead the Bulldogs was
Kylie Skidmore with 15 points and seven rebounds. Babb would chip in nine points and
Bailey Taylor would grab six rebounds on the night.
Kiaya Warner would lead the team with four assists.
Adrian will host Saint Mary's College (IN) for Senior Night on Saturday, February 17 at 3:00 PM.
