Une Bjelland Becomes Program's All-Time Points Leader as Women's Hockey Advances to Slaats Cup Semifinals

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team defeated Lawrence University on Saturday night in the NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinals to advance to the semifinal round. The Bulldogs came away with a 4-0 victory on Saturday after a three-goal third period.
 
The first period went scoreless for both teams before the Bulldogs broke the silence in the second period. Annika Hanson scored the opening goal to lead 1-0. The 1-0 lead went into the third period where Adrian added three goals with under two minutes to play. Maya Roy scored on a power play to lead 2-0 which was followed by another goal from Roy on an empty net. With 37 seconds to go in the game, Saige Biddle scored to lead 4-0 and win the game.
 
Une Bjelland finished the game with three assists on the night. Her first assist gave her 100 career assists while her second assist made her the all-time leading points scorer in Adrian College NCAA women's hockey history and NCHA history. After tonight, Bjelland now sits with 181 career points.
 
Michaela O'Brien got the start in goal for Adrian where she finished the night with 12 saves and her fifth shutout of the season.
 
The Bulldogs advance to the NCHA Slaats Cup Semifinals next weekend. The Bulldogs will host Lake Forest College on Saturday, February 24 at 7:00 PM at the Arrington Ice Arena.
