GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team headed to Calvin University for a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs struggled to string enough stops together as they would lose, 77-51.
Nick Seifert would start the first half with a three-pointer to give Adrian its first lead of the game. Through the first five minutes it was all tied up at seven. A back and forth next ten minutes would have the Knights up one with just under six minutes to go. Calvin would end the first half on a 10-2 run to give them a 29-20 lead at the halftime break. Adrian would shoot 33.33% from the field and shoot 25% from beyond the arc.
In the second half, the Knights would take control of the game in the first five minutes bringing their lead to a 20-point margin. The lead would increase to 28 with just under 12 minutes remaining. The Bulldogs would show some fight as they would slowly match the scoring of the Knights, but it was not enough. Adrian, unable to find their rhythm, would lose 77-51 after forty minutes of play.
To lead the Bulldogs, Seifert with 13 points and four assists while
DJ Morrow would total 10 points of his own.
Braylon Dickerson would add nine rebounds with
Josh Rechsteiner pulling down six.
Adrian will travel to Hope College on Wednesday, February 7 at 7:30 PM for their next contest.
