BLOOMINGTON, IL – The Adrian College men's volleyball team traveled to compete in the Illinois Wesleyan Quad on Friday and Saturday. The Bulldogs would win their first match against Edgewood College, 3-1. For their second match of the night Adrian would lose to Illinois Wesleyan University in three straight sets.
Adrian would defeat Edgewood in four sets. Edgewood would win the first set 25-17, but the Bulldogs would take full control in the last three winning 25-17, 25-22, and 25-19.
Chase Heuer would lead Adrian with 16 kills while
Beck Fieldhouse would total 10 kills and
Sam Landers added seven of his own.
Carson Bell contributed three blocks as
Andrew Gawrisch dished out 20 assists.
Jacob Rembulat would have a team-high 14 digs with Gawrisch adding nine in the four sets.
In the second match, Adrian would lose by scores of 26-24, 25-22, and 25-12.
Heuer would lead once again with 11 kills with Landers adding eight. Gawrisch and Bell both had two service aces. Bell recorded two blocks while Gawrisch totaled 14 more assists and Heuer led with seven digs in the three sets. Adrian's hitting percentage was .133.
The Bulldogs are right back in action at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM for their second day at the Illinois Wesleyan Quad!
