Women's Lacrosse Lose to Bethel University at Home, 11-6

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team would host Bethel University for a Monday night contest. Adrian would only total one goal in the second half as they would lose, 11-6.
 
Bethel would score the first goal of the game in under 30 seconds of play to make it 1-0. Zoe Weber would throw in a goal assisted by Emily Crager to tie the game up at 1, with just about 12 minutes left in the first quarter. Bethel would go on a 4-0 run to close out the first quarter. A goal from Lucia Commare would keep the score close as Bethel would lead 5-2 after the first quarter. Bethel would respond with two goals of their own to open the second quarter. Goals from Mariana Miller and Jessice Price would bring Adrian to within three goals. Bethel would score their last goal of the first half as Commare would score for her second time to end the half. Bethel would lead Adrian, 8-5 at the break.
 
The second half was quiet for both teams as Bethel would score one goal in the third quarter. Sarah Gross would score her first goal of the game with just under five minutes left in the third quarter. Adrian would be held scoreless in the fourth quarter as Bethel would score two more goals to extend the lead to 11-6. The final score from Docking Stadium would be 11-6 in favor of Bethel university.
 
To lead the Bulldogs was Commare with two goals as she reeled in three ground balls and won five draw controls. Miller would lead Adrian with two assists while Olivia Gedman would grab six ground balls. Mey Sun, Gedman, and Gross would all cause four turnovers for Adrian in the four quarters of action. Megan Steffey, who was in goal, would record 10 saves on the night.
 
Adrian will be back at home for their next contest on Saturday, March 23 at 4:00 PM against Franklin College.
