Hoerauf Hat-Trick Not Enough as Men's Lacrosse Falls to Oberlin on the Road

OBERLIN, Oh. – The Adrian College Men's Lacrosse team made its way to Ohio this afternoon to take on the Yeomen of Oberlin College, where they fell 16-8.

The Bulldogs and Yeomen got off to a hot start in the first quarter, trading goals back and forth to bring the score to 5-4 after one frame in favor of Oberlin. Riley Edwards, Cameron Reed, Brandon Hoerauf, and Bowen Sparks provided the opening tallies for Adrian.

Second quarter action saw the Yeomen tack on three more to the Bulldogs' two to make it an 8-6 game at half time. Austin Selvage and Hoerauf found the back of the net for the Bulldogs in the second quarter. Shots at the half were 33-14 for the Yeomen, while ground balls were 18-14, also in favor of the Yeomen.

Adrian would only manage one goal in the third quarter as Hoerauf completed the hat-trick, but Oberlin tallied four more times leaving the score at 12-7 heading into the final quarter of play.

In the final quarter, Michael Jonas would add another goal for the Bulldogs, this time with a man-up, to make it 12-8 before Oberlin responded with four more goals of its own to make the final score, 16-8.
