ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's rowing team opens the spring season ranked in the top-15 in the Men's Varsity 8 as announced in the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) Preseason Poll. The Bulldogs rank No. 12 in Division III with 31 voting points.
The Bulldogs had a successful fall where they finished in the top-3 in three events on the season, and 35
th in the Head of the Charles which serves as one of the largest rowing events in the country. Adrian opened the season with a second-place finish at the Head of the Cuyahoga followed by a third-place finish at the Head of the Grand. The team then won the Head of the Muskingum defeating Marietta College for the first time in program history.
At the Head of the Charles, Adrian finished with a time of 16:50.405 which ranked as the fastest time among conference opponents. The Bulldogs opened the spring season with a scrimmage at Marietta where they finished third.
The team is still young which holds a positive future ahead. The Bulldogs consist of mostly freshman, sophomores, and juniors, and will only be losing one fifth-year season at the end of the spring due to graduation. Last season, the team made its first appearance in the IRA National Championship where they will look to return later this year.
