ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's Lacrosse team hosted Hope College on Saturday afternoon at Docking Stadium, but fell to the Dutchmen by a 14-4 score. Prior to the contest, the Bulldogs took time to honor its Senior Class of 2024 with a pre-game ceremony to honor each athlete's time and achievements throughout their careers at Adrian College.
Seniors
Steven Martin,
Liam Reif,
Jason Klein,
Trent Tidswell, and
Denver Engle were honored at center field before the game, accompanied by their families.
To start the game, the Bulldogs came out hot by generating a quick two-goal lead on goals from
Michael Jonas and
Riley Edwards. Although from then on, it was the Flying Dutchmen who controlled for most of the game. Adrian would receive two more tallies in the game; one from Jonas and one from
Cameron Reed to complete their game total.
Austin Selvage and
Trent Tidswell each provided an assist for Adrian in the game. The Flying Dutchmen would continue to press all throughout, finishing with the 14-4 road victory.
Leaders for Adrian on Saturday included
AJ Hayes and Reed with four ground balls apiece, Hayes with four caused turnovers, Jonas with five shot attempts, and
Jack Messel and Jonas with three shots on goal each. Goalkeeper,
Sam Spangler, had a busy day on Saturday, finishing with 15 big saves in the loss.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, April 17 at Kalamazoo College for another MIAA contest. Face off will be at 7:30 PM in Kalamazoo.
