Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team traveled to Calvin University for an MIAA contest on Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs were defeated by the Knights, 10-15.
Adrian jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with both goals coming from
Mariana Miller. The Knights ended up scoring eight straight goals creating an 8-2 lead with just under three minutes to play in the first half. The Bulldogs end the half with two goals from
Zoe Weber and Miller to be down at the half, 4-8. Calvin started the second half scoring the first goal, but
Sarah Gross responded to make it, 5-9. The Knights scored three straight goals and the Adrian scored three straight goals. Adrian goals were scored by Miller,
Lucia Commare, and
Maggie Bean. The more goals from Calvin extended their lead to 15-8 with under five minutes to play. Commare ended the game scoring two goals for Adrian, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs lose, 10-15.
Miller led Adrian with four goals as Commare totaled three goals and two assists. Commare recorded seven draw controls as
Megan Steffey led with seven ground balls.
Mey Sun tallied four caused turnovers as Steffey recorded 13 saves on the night.
Adrian will play at home for Senior Day on Saturday, April 20 against Albion at 1:00 PM!
