ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College hosted Albion College on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon. The three seniors honored were
Lauren Falzone,
Mey Sun, and
Mariana Miller. The Bulldogs ended up losing down the stretch, 7-8.
Adrian took an early lead with goals from
Taylor Gregan and
Mariana Miller. Albion scored four unanswered goals to go up 4-2 with about nine minutes left in the second quarter. Adrian tied the game up at four with two more goals, one from
Emily Crager and the other from
Lucia Commare. Albion scored another goal right before the half to take a 5-5 halftime lead. A defensive third quarter was on display as each team only scored one goal.
Sarah Gross scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs with eleven seconds remaining in the third quarter. A back and forth fourth quarter ended with Albion keeping their lead and defeating Adrian, 8-7.
To lead Adrian was Miller and Commare with two goals each as
Zoe Weber recorded the only assist of the day for the Bulldogs.
Taylor Gregan totaled eight ground balls as
Mey Sun tallied seven caused turnovers on the day. Commare led Adrian with five draw controls with Gross to follow with four.
Megan Steffey was in goal as she recorded six saves.
Adrian will travel to Alma College for their next MIAA contest on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 PM.
