ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team headed to Alma College for an MIAA conference match up on Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs stumbled on the Scots, losing 15-8.
In the first quarter Alma jumped on the Bulldogs first scoring with just under seven minutes.
Mariana Miller responded for Adrian to tie the game at 1-1. Alma ends the first quarter scoring two more goals, to make it 3-1 after the first 15 minutes of action. Adrian explodes to start the second quarter with three straight goals, two from
Lucia Commare and one from
Zoe Weber to take a 4-3 lead. Both teams score another goal each as Weber puts it in the net for the Bulldogs. Alma starts to take over the game by scoring five more goals to end the first half and start the third quarter of play. A goal from Commare and one from
Sarah Gross to bring the Scots lead to 9-7. Alma scored six more goals the rest of the way as Gross adds another goal for Adrian as the Bulldogs lose, 15-8.
Commare leads Adrian with three goals as Weber adds two goals of her own and two assists.
Megan Steffey had a team-high seven ground balls as
Olivia Gedman tallies four caused turnovers.
Megan Steffey was in goal and recorded 13 saves.
Adrian will host Kalamazoo College for their final game of the season on Saturday, April 27 at 1 PM.
