ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team hosted Trine University for an MIAA conference match up on Friday evening. The Bulldogs were taken down by a score of 16-6.
The Thunder would get of too a hot start, scoring the first five goals of the contest.
Zoe Weber would stop the run scoring with three minutes left in the first quarter. Trine scored three more goals to end the first quarter as the score is 8-1 after the first 15 minutes of the game.
Lucia Commare started the second quarter with an unassisted goal making it 8-2. Commare tossed in the remaining four goals for the Bulldogs. At the half, Trine had a 10-4 lead. After the third quarter of play, the Thunder led 12-5. Commare scoring the Bulldogs final goal with just under six minutes to go in the game brought the score to 14-6. Trine ended the game scoring two more goals and took a 16-6 victory.
To lead Adrian was Commare with five goals and seven draw controls.
Mya Reyes and
Olivia Gedman both had four ground balls as Gedman had a team-high five caused turnovers.
Megan Steffey was in goal and would record five saves.
Adrian will stay in conference play as they host Hope College on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:00 PM!
