Christopher Hathaway Promoted to Head Coach of Women's Rugby

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Athletics Department and the Women's Rugby team are proud to announce that Christopher Hathaway has been promoted to Head Coach of the Adrian College Women's Rugby team. Hathaway spent this past season as an Assistant Coach for both the Men's and Women's Rugby teams at Adrian.

Hathaway comes from Saint Clair Shores, Michigan and received his education from Davenport University with a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management. He also obtained a Master's degree in Elementary Mathematics from the Relay Graduate School of Education in New York, New York.

Hathaway's past includes time as a Head Coach at New Mexico Tech, Head Coach at Vail Rugby Club, Men's and Women's Assistant Coach at Davenport University, Men's and Women's Assistant Coach at Glendale Merlins, Men's and Women's Glendale Youth Coach, and Assistant Coach at Lakeview High School. Hathaway also played rugby himself for Vail RFC, the Denver Waterdogs, the Denver Misfits, the Glendale Merlins, the Glendale Raptors, Davenport University, and Lakeview High School. He accomplished many achievements during his time as a coach and player, including winning back-to-back national collegiate titles with Davenport University in 2011 and 2012 as a player, and winning the R7CC with the Davenport University Women's team in 2022 as a coach.

Coach Hathaway will take over the reigns of Adrian College Women's Rugby for the upcoming 2024-25 season; the program's first season at the National Collegiate Rugby Division 1 level.
