DELAWARE, Ohio. – The Adrian College women's soccer team opened its 2024 season on the road on Sunday afternoon as they took on the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops. Although, the Bulldogs couldn't find the result they were looking for, as they fell to the Bishops by a score of 4-0.
Adrian managed only ten shots (five on goal) in the contest to Ohio Wesleyan's twenty-six (fourteen on goal). Bulldog goalkeeper,
Katelyn Stanton, made seven saves and allowed three goals in sixty-four minutes of play, while freshman keeper,
Riley Miller, turned aside three shots and allowed one goal after standing in between the pipes for the remainder of the contest.
Leading for Adrian on Sunday was
Annamarie Fosmoen who registered three shots, including two on goal.
Kelsey Zoli also finished the match with two shots on goal, while
Delaney Batur recorded three total shots, including one on goal. Co-captain
Teagan Bergeron was the only Bulldog to see all ninety minutes of the match. She also collected a shot for the Bulldogs.
The Adrian College women's soccer squad will return home and prepare for their home opener, scheduled for this Wednesday, September 4 against the Defiance College Yellowjackets. Kick off will be at 7:00 PM at Docking Stadium. Tickets to the match can be found on the Adrian College Athletics website.
