DETROIT, MICH. – The Adrian College cross country team recently competed in the Warrior Challenge, where the men placed 5th and the women finished 11th. The highlight of the day came from junior
Will Houvener, who secured a top-10 finish for the Bulldogs.
The women's team kicked off the competition with freshman
Samantha Coots leading the way, finishing in 26:10.00 for 72nd place. Sophomore Sarah Anastasiadas followed closely behind, crossing the line in 26:31.30. Senior
Sydney Wilkie came in next for the Bulldogs, placing 84th with a time of 26:49.10. Freshman
Olivia Hyatt finished strong in 90th place, clocking in at 27:03.80. Rounding out the top five for Adrian was junior
Ava Arnes, who placed 110th with a time of 28:42.60.
On the men's side, junior
Will Houvener led the Bulldogs with an impressive 6th place finish, crossing the line at 25:42.80. Freshman
Ryan Morris was the second Bulldog to finish, coming in at 27:46.40 for 70th place. Senior Collin Syrek completed the course in 28:19.60, finishing in 88th. Junior
Gavin Shelton took 113th with a time of 28:56.60, while junior
Chris Smith rounded out Adrian's top five with a time of 29:16.50, securing 120th place.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, September 27th at the Calvin Knight Invitational, with the first race scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
