Four Different Goal-Scorers Power Men's Soccer to Home Win over Cleary; Improve Team to 5-0

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's soccer team added yet another win at home to stay undefeated in 2024, taking down the Cleary University Cougars on Friday afternoon and winning the match 4-1.

The Bulldogs went down 1-0 in the twenty-third minute of the match after Cleary put one past Senior goalkeeper, Jackson Vacca, but it was all Bulldogs in the second half as the home team piled on four unanswered goals to secure the victory and continue their hot streak.

Tyler Berezak put Adrian on the board first, tying the match in the fifty-eighth minute off a Cleary turnover. Alex Greene then played hero once again, scoring the eventual game-winner in the sixty-fifth minute to put the Bulldogs up, 2-1. Kyle Jennings and Aidan Beiter would add the remaining two goals for Adrian in the seventy-seventh and eighty-eighth minutes. Dante Perri added two assists in the contest, while Jennings, Kyle Peterson, and Dante Grasso each recorded an assist as well.

Shots in Friday's contest ended in Cleary's favor, outshooting Adrian 15-14, but it was the Bulldogs who fired more shots on goal than the Cougars, putting ten on goal to Cleary's six on goal. Vacca finished with six saves in the Adrian win. Greene, Berezak, and Perri each registered three shots, with two of them on goal.

The Adrian College men's soccer team will look to extend their win streak to six when they return to the pitch on Sunday, September 15 as they host Rochester Christian University. Kick off goes at 12:00 PM at Docking Stadium. The Bulldogs last started their season with a 6-0 record back in 2019.
