CHICAGO, Ill. - The Adrian College women's volleyball team faced a challenging day on Saturday, falling short in both matches against North Park University and Illinois Tech Institute.
In their first contest, senior Amber Morris was a standout with 11 kills, while junior Virginia Rowan added six more to the tally. Despite their efforts, Adrian dropped the opening set 22-25. At the net, junior Kayla Chan made a significant impact with four blocks, and sophomore Kendall Sullivan contributed three more. Defensively, senior Mya Minjares excelled with 25 digs, anchoring the Bulldogs' defensive efforts. Unfortunately, Adrian fell in three sets to none in the opening match.
In the second match, Morris continued her impressive performance, leading the Bulldogs with 12 kills. Rowan also made a strong contribution with nine kills. At the net, Morris, along with freshman Ava Acre, Kendall Sullivan, and Kayla Chan, each added two blocks. Defensively, Mya Minjares led with 11 digs, supported by Morris, Lana Cox, and junior Amelia McCombs, who each contributed five digs. Despite their determined effort, Adrian came up short in the second match as well.
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back as they host Hiram College on Friday, September 20th, at 7:00 PM in the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center.
